Train to Busan MOvie Review

I'm such a die-hard zombie fan. I love anything of this genre. I love thrills and excitement. Zombie movies like I am Legend & World War Z, I have alrdy watch them 2-3 times, really! 28 days later is also a good zombie movie but I can't find the full movie online yet. As long as there's zombies, I may not even give a damn about the storyline or plot, I just want to look at them.
So, I have watched Train to Busan twice. I asked a few of my girl friends if they have also watched and they replied 'its too scary' even though they haven't even watched it. Makes me wonder if I am the minority among the girls who love such genre?

Anyway, here's my thought about this movie. I have a lot of emotions running though my head everytime this movie is being mentioned.

This zombie movie is not just about the gore and violence. It depicts a lot of human emotions, and the characters in it, you either love or hate them enough like they actually existed. Have to keep reminding myself, it's just a movie, cannot keep cursing the COO Uncle.

The best part about this movie is it's so fast-paced. I watched the midnight show(after a Long working day), my husband told me I would fall asleep, but I proved him wrong. I was WIDE-AWAKE throughout the whole movie because it's so exciting. It only took the first 15 minutes to elaborate the strained relationship between the father and daughter. And how the father is finally convinced to take his daughter to Busan to meet her mother. They need to take the train to busan, totally oblivion of the horror that's going to unfold before their eyes.

Once the train took off, the zombie virus spreads like wildfire (horrifying), all thanks to an infected mysterious lady who jumped on board at the very last minute just before the train door closed.  -_-'''''
She bited her first victim, who happens to be a cabin attendant (above).  Within minutes, more than half of the passengers were being infected and piling up like mountains.

The train is in total chaos while the people ran to safer cabins to seek temporary refuge. The humans and zombies were soon being separated with just a piece of sliding door.......

Their only hope left is to reach a station of safety. But I can feel how despaired and betrayed these people must have felt, when they reached the station, only to realize they are actually being abandoned to die, with a sea of zombies waiting to bite them(below). :(

All the military soldiers, who were supposed to save the civilians have been infected.  What hope is there left for them?

The father running for his daughter after realizing the whole station is unsafe.  Probably regretted asking her to 'Stay right here, sweetie'.

After a fight of near life and death with the zombies, all the main characters still manage to hop onto the moving train again(which they alighted from earlier, lol).

The 3 man were the last to hop onto train in order to stall off the zombies so that the rest can run to safety first. But in order to reunite with their love ones where they got separated from amidst the chaos, they need to pass through cabins filled with teeth-gnashing zombies. And the most horrible thing about the zombies is they run at lightning speed.... with little to no time for reaction. But left with no choices, they can only brace themselves for the arduous battle.

Suddenly, I was full of admiration for the muscular uncle(Ma Dong Seok). His character is so heroic, brave and selfless(that I don't even bother about Gong Yoo anymore), always the first to charge towards any danger. He's the role model for all male species. But he had to be the first hero to die. He didn't survive the last cabin, he's so close alrdy..... And his death is indirectly caused by the selfish old bastard(below), who refused to let them in even though they weren't infected. He also caused the death of a few major characters at the end. He conveniently pushed people to feed the zombies in ordered to buy some time for himself. And the most idiotic thing is, he could have closed those train doors when he ran off, but instead he let them all out. (fcuking idiot, I wanted to hack him so much.)

These 2 were dead, thanks to him too.

The kind of excitement was over for me upon seeing all the important character dies one after another, it's a scenario of cold reality. And what makes it more disturbing is, some of them can actually survive if not for the inhumane action of another person (eg. the selfish bastard). Humans are more terrifying than zombies. Zombies just bite blindly with no emotions in them, but humans will plot against each other in order not to get bitten.

The lead actor (Gong Yoo), eventually died in the hands of the selfish bastard during the attempt to save his daughter and the pregnant woman. What a sad ending when he is turning into a zombie, the images of his then newborn daughter slowly flashed through his mind. This scene is easily relatable to any parents for sure. Damn sad. :'(((((

Even though I hated the ending, I really enjoyed this movie. It's very entertaining throughout! I don't know why there are some smart alec saying this movie is a waste of time.... I'm quite sure they belong to the minority, don't listen to them!!!

This movie sold millions of tickets!

i can't say this movie is a waste of time, but it sure didn't live up to my expectation. They left too many questions unanswered, which somehow feels like they're paving the way for a sequel? Yet, I do not wish for one.
And, this is probably the least scary zombie apocalypse, ever.

replying to Mia Foo:
the story is probably very predictable and ordinary. as its not the first zombie movie ever aired....ur right that its not scary actually. I would say 28 days later is much scarier. but the excitement level didn't disappoint me.. was never bored throughout. makes me want to pay attention to every single details.
